His Righteousness is our Strength (Psalm 93)

HIS RIGHTEOUSNESS IS OUR STRENGTH (PSALM 93)

Your hope on the Last Day is not that you are strong enough or righteous enough, but that you belong to the one who is.

  • The Lord Became King (vv. 1-4)

  • The Lord’s Righteousness is His Strength (vv. 3-4; Isaiah 11:1-16)

  • Be Holy Because He is Holy (v. 5)

Discussion Starters

Monday—What kinds of fears do you wrestle with? Where do you tend to see comfort when you’re afraid?

Tuesday—What is the image behind waters or rivers that seek to overcome the Lord in verses 3 and 4? What does it mean that the Lord’s righteousness is his strength?

Wednesday—How were the flood (Genesis 6-8), the crossing of the Red Sea (Exodus 14), and the crossing of the Jordan (Joshua 4) examples of God being vindicated over his enemies? Who benefited from those victories? How are these pictures of the Last Day?

Thursday—How does confidence about the Last Day help to comfort you today? (Romans 8:31; Hebrews 13:6) What are some fears that you need to surrender to God?

Friday—Read Leviticus 11:44. What does it mean that holiness is fitting for God’s house? What sins in your life are the result of fear?
