Why we Worship (Psalm 95)

WHY WE WORSHIP (PSALM 95)

We worship because that is what we were created to do and where we alone can find true joy and peace.

  • Out of Eden (vv. 3-5)

  • Back to Eden (vv. 1-2, 6-7; Deuteronomy 32:13; Psalm 81:16)

  • The Better Eden (7-11; Hebrews 3-4; John 10)

Discussion Starters

Monday—What’s wrong with saying we worship God because he loves us and not because he made us? Why should we worship God?

Tuesday—What are some things you are tempted to think God would give you if he loves you? What would happen if God answered those desires? Would you be satisfied? Why or why not?

Wednesday—If you were at Meribah with Israel and had witnessed the crossing of the Red Sea, would you have questioned God’s love?

Thursday—Would someone who doesn’t love God enjoy heaven? Why or why not?

Friday—Where do you see the love of God most clearly? If you want to stand strong against the devil’s attacks, what can you do?
