Dust (Psalm 103)

Our frailty is not a hinderance to God showing us mercy, but the very reason he shows it.

  • He Knows our Frame (vv. 14-16)

  • He Remembers that We are Dust (vv. 2-13, 17-19)

  • Talking to Angels (and Ourselves) (vv. 1, 20-22)

Discussion Starters

Monday—What does it mean to forget who we are and that we are dust? Why is it dangerous to forget who God is and that he is merciful?

Tuesday—What are the particular ways you are tempted to “leave your mark” so that you aren’t forgotten? How do you look for your meaning and identity in these things?

Wednesday—What does the Bible mean when it says “God remembers”? (cf. Gen 30:22; Ex 2:24) Why is it a good thing that God remembers you are dust?

Thursday—What’s Jesus’ own relationship with dust? What was he willing to do to rescue us from our sin and its curse?

Friday—Why does David talk to himself in Psalm 103? What are some things you need to remind yourself of regularly?
