Make a Joyful Noise (Psalm 98)

MAKE A JOYFUL NOISE

PSALM 98 | LUKE 1:51-55

Joyful praise is the natural and appropriate response to the Lord’s salvation.

  • The Arm of the Lord (vv. 1-3; Luke 1:51-55)

  • Why Creation Sings (vv. 7-9; Romans 8:18-25)

  • Make a Joyful Noise (vv. 4-6)

Discussion Starters

Monday—Andrew Fletcher wrote, “Let me make the songs of a nation, and I care not who makes its laws.” What did he mean? Do you agree or disagree?

Tuesday—Why is music so powerful? What draws us to different sorts of music? What kind of music do you tend to resonate with?

Wednesday—How has God shown his salvation throughout history? How should how he has acted in the past help you in thinking about the future?

Thursday—What causes the sea, the rivers, and the hills to sing for joy? (vv. 7-8) What can you learn from them?

Friday—If you want to be filled with joy and sing for joy, what do you need to think about? What are some things you can do to help you think on those things?
