The Company You Keep (Psalm 101)

THE COMPANY YOU KEEP (PSALM 101)

Those who wish to grow in godliness must spend time with God and surround themselves with those who love the Lord.

  • The Company Jesus Kept

Discussion Starters

Monday—What does it mean that bad company ruins good morals? (1 Corinthians 15:33) What was the context? Are the only corrupting influences that we need to watch for outside the church?

Tuesday—As King David takes the throne, why does he feel the need to “clean house”? What is his fear of allowing immoral counselors to advise him? What is his responsibility as a king?

Wednesday—What is arrogance? Why is it so dangerous? Does gross immorality always accompany arrogance or can it hide itself in pious living as well?

Thursday—Does the Bible tell us to never speak with or spend time with sinners? Read 1 Corinthians 5:6-11. How does this help you think about the company you should keep?

Friday—Is it enough for your friends to be Christians or is something more needed? If you and your friends don’t talk about the things of the Lord and encourage greater humility and godliness, is that healthy? What kind of spouse does God want people to look for?
